ABOUT – Kristin Trüb

Multimedia journalist Kristin Trüb combines photography with sounds, interviews, film sequences and found footage. Her first book “Letzte Generation Ost” was published by Éditions Bessard in 2015. She is focused on personal stories relating to the topics of identification, socialization and migration.

After school Kristin did an apprenticeship as a media designer at Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne. In 2010 she began her studies in photography at the University of Applied Sciences & Arts in Dortmund. Since then she also works as freelance photographer and multimedia journalist. She finished her studies with the Master degree in 2018.

Her first book “Letzte Generation Ost” was nominated for the International Dummy Award (2015) and named by the Goethe Institut as one of the best german photobook projects from young German artists (2014/2015). It was exhibit in Germany, Portugal and the USA. In Marfa/USA Kristin Trüb won the Marfa Open :-: 2016 Prize for Photography. Her secound book "Hi Zahid, this is Kristin." was finalist at Fiebre Dummy Award in Spain and got honored with "Gold" from "Deutscher Fotobuchpreis" in 2018.

In her current work "Neu Deutschland" Kristin sets out to search for the heritage of german settlers in texas. For the research she received a scholarship from "Ruhr.Residence".
